What are the responsibilities and job description for the MDS Medicare Coordinator position at Lawrence Healthcare?
Job Objective/Summary: The MDS Medicare Coordinator is a finance-related position requiring good clinical skills to develop, implement, and manage a successful Medicare Part A program from admissions through discharge. Must promote good public relations for the unit and maintain patient confidentiality. The MDS Medicare Coordinator will supervise and administer direct resident care when necessary.
Job Education, Licenses/Certifications, Knowledge & Experience: Must be a graduate of accredited school of nursing and licensed by the state of Arkansas as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with at least one (1) year of recent clinical experience. Must possess and demonstrate clinical knowledge and confidence in chosen clinical area. Prefer experience in geriatric nursing. Knowledge of Medicare regulations and/or care requirements of skilled geriatric patients. Prior experience completing M.D.S's. Excellent physical observation & data collections skills. Currently AANAC RAC-CT certification, or willingness to take courses and pass certification test within 90 days of employment. Meets set deadlines. Willing to follow directions. Must be dependable in attendance and available by telephone and/or phone number on reasonable notice.
