Job Description
We have an opening for a Modeling & Simulation Software Developer - Postdoctoral Researcher who will work with a team of scientists to develop, run, and study results from large parallel simulations related to the national defense.
This position may offer a hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week, after a probationary period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization.
You will
- Design algorithms for efficient parallel solution of PDEs under constraints.
- Develop code in C for an existing parallel application.
- Analyze code performance and establish benchmarks / validation.
- Write high-quality software with adherence to professional best practices including using Git, unit testing, and writing documentation.
- Maintain an awareness of technical literature in relevant areas, publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals, and present results at internal progress meetings, external conferences, seminars, and / or technical meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Information
This is a Postdoctoral appointment with the possibility of extension to a maximum of three years, open to those who have been awarded a PhD at time of hire date.
