A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEAVY TRUCK DRIVER
As a Heavy Truck Driver, you're at the heart of infrastructure projects, helping build highways, bridges, airports, and more. You'll operate a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with at least a 26,000-pound GVW, ensuring materials get where they need to be-safely and efficiently. Your day might involve delivering products, loading and unloading materials, maneuvering vehicles through busy job sites, and keeping accurate paperwork while meeting deadlines.
You'll work alongside a talented crew in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, gaining hands-on experience with new equipment and techniques. Each day, you'll drive away with a sense of accomplishment, knowing you played a key role in shaping the community.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A & DOT medical card are required. Tanker & airbrake endorsements are strongly preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience in the heavy construction industry is strongly desired.
- Hoisting Engineer's License (1C & 2A) or willingness to obtain.
- OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment driving abstract, drug screening, and, if applicable, a CORI background check.

WORK SCHEDULE
Our peak construction periods are in the Spring and Fall. Work is project-based, and most of our drivers work year-round, 40 hours per week. Typical work days during peak periods begin around 6 : 30 am and finished by 5 : 00 pm. Occasional travel to islands and night work may occur.
