What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of IS&T position at Lawrence Public Schools?
Position Title: Information Technology Specialist
Location/Dept: Central Office
Reports to: Director of IS&T
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, desktops/servers/networks.
2. Must have a technical background in Windows Desktop and Server OS’s, Microsoft Office Suites.
3. Experience with management and use of mobile devices (Chromebooks, iPads, Kindles, etc.).
4. Experience with SIS (preferably Powerschool).
5. Knowledge of Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN) to assist Networking.
6. Must have good customer support and communication skills.
7. Experience with access control systems.
8. Must be a team player as well as independent worker.
9. Reliable means of transportation for work mobility.
10. Manage projects and personnel for daily activities and long-term projects.
11. Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
12. Flexibility to work weekends and evenings, as needed to solve service issues.
13. Proficiency in English (Bilingual Preferred).
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Diagnosing and troubleshooting various software and hardware problems for the staff.
2. Able to prioritize problems and help the staff through problem-solving process.
3. Completing trouble tickets in a timely fashion.
4. Provide technical assistance to schools in importing/exporting data in/out of Powerschool and create
various reports.
5. Other job duties required by the supervisor.
Work Year: Twelve (12) months a year
Salary Range: Salary in accordance with the Non-Union Specialists Salary Schedule
Other: Exempt
