Qualifications
- Appropriate New Jersey Teaching Certificate:
- Nursery School/PreK-3 required
- TOSD or TOH certificate preferred
- Experience in implementing developmentally appropriate Early Childhood curricula
- Experience with performance-based Early Childhood assessments
- Experience in designing professional development, facilitating workshops, and training sessions for Early Childhood teachers
- Experience with Pyramid Model preferred
- Master’s Degree preferred
Job Goal
To assist the Supervisor of Early Childhood Education in planning and coordinating the implementation of the Early Childhood program to support student success by coaching and supporting educators to be successful.
Performance Responsibilities
- Visits classrooms on a regular basis to observe, model, provide feedback and make recommendations about appropriate behavioral strategies to ensure that all students are successful.
- Develop, modify and adapt student behavioral plans as needed.
- Collaborates with peers to provide a quality early childhood program on an ongoing basis using a variety of tools: curriculum fidelity checklists, Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT)
- Develops and plans training opportunities to improve areas identified from structured observation evaluations (aggregated data)
- Supports the Community Parent Involvement Specialist (CPIS) through planned events
- Confers with Early Childhood supervisor to coordinate, articulate, and provide professional development for all Early Childhood staff
- Provides individualized follow-up support to the teacher's level of development and plan small group meetings/trainings for teachers with similar needs
- Performs additional duties as deemed relevant by the Supervisor of Early Childhood Education and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction
