What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver position at Lawton Community Schools?
POSITION: Bus Driver, Part-Time
HOURS: 2 bus runs on student days; Extra trips available
Monday-Friday and some weekends as needed
Morning Route: 6:40am–7:45am
Afternoon Route: 2:40pm–4:00pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to read and write; high School diploma or equivalent
2. Evidence of skills and care in operation and maintenance of equipment
3. Evidence of good and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills
4. Must be dependable and responsible
5. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds generally and 80 pounds occasionally
6. Must be able to pass the employer’s/DOT physical and drug screen
7. Must be able to greet the public in an appropriate manner and assist them as needed
8. Such alternatives to the above that the Direct of Operations may find appropriate and acceptable
9. Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license with C and or B with a P and S endorsements
10. Safe driving record
REPORTS TO: The Director of Operations/Transportation
JOB GOAL: To provide student transportation when called upon in a safe and efficient manner.
PERFORMANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Drive daily route and after school trips as needed
2. Notify the Director of Operations when major repairs are needed
3. Assist in supervision of students when assigned
4. Perform vehicle inspection as outlined daily
5. Willing to attend educational courses to improve skills paid by the Board of Education
PAY SCALE:
$30.75-$35.17 per run (2 runs daily); per LESPA Master Agreement 2024-2027
$18.00 per hour for extra trips and waiting time
