What You'll Do 

As the Tax Department Chair, you’ll lead a team that mirrors these values. Your role includes: 

• Managing a thriving fiduciary return and tax planning for high-net-worth individuals. 
• Mentoring and collaborating with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys. 
• Building genuine relationships with clients while delivering insightful, creative solutions to their tax challenges. 
• Preparing and filing a range of tax returns, including Forms 1041, 706, 709, 1120, 1065, and more. 

What We’re Looking For 

We’re seeking a knowledgeable tax attorney with at least three years of experience practicing tax law through income tax planning and filing returns (business, real estate, and estate planning a plus). Qualified candidates must be admitted to practice law in Virginia (additional jurisdictions a plus). In addition, candidates should embody our values and bring:

• Superior work product including exceptional attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and strong communication skills 
• A mission-aligned approach to leadership. 
• Strong proficiency in tax return software (e.g. Intuit) and familiarity with filings like FBARs, Form 8938, and others. 
• Previous experience with filing Form 1041, 706, 8971, 709, 990, 1140, 1120, and 1065 
• Previous experience with filing FBAR (FinCEN Form 114), and Form 8938, a plus
