Position Description :
The main objective of a Supplier Quality Engineer is to ensure that products and supplies from vendors are high quality, free of damages and defects, and follow government, company, and manufacturing standards. The SQE also advise on increasing the quality of these products and make suggestions to improve manufacturing processes. Their tasks involve overseeing manufacturing processes, logistics, and issues related to supply chain management. SQEs typically develop relationships with suppliers, act as a liaison between them and company representatives, and create reports and databases of provider information to help ensure the company works with the highest-quality vendors.
Requirements :
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Drives and further develops relationships with current supply partners to improve daily performance at the lowest cost.
- Investigate true manufacturing cost and identify opportunities for cost savings with current supply partners or re-sourcing to more competitive and capable new sources.
- Seek and develop new potential supplier partners that help the organization meet defined objectives to ensure primary and secondary suppliers are qualified.
- Analyzes engineering specifications and customer expectations to help in determining sourcing requirements.
- Monitors and manages supplier on-time delivery and quality performance to assure capability to meet on-time production schedules.
- Ensures manufacturing processes comply with requirements and guidelines.
- Creates and promotes strategies to increase the quality and efficiency of systems and products.
- Coordinates processes to ensure all purchased materials meet engineering specifications, quality system requirements, cost expectations, inventory requirements, and delivery expectations.
- Makes recommendations to purchasing systems modifications and enhancements.
- Monitor prepared reports for Purchase Price Variance, Key Supplier Metrics, Scrap Levels, Quality, and On-Time Delivery.
