As a Pipe Layer at Layton Services, your role will install underground utility pipes for water line, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, drains, including pipe bedding and seal joints. This role requires experience in trenching, grading, and laying various types of pipe while ensuring proper alignment, depth and slope according to project specifications.

As a Pipe Layer at Layton Services, your role will install underground utility pipes for water line, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, drains, including pipe bedding and seal joints. This role requires experience in trenching, grading, and laying various types of pipe while ensuring proper alignment, depth and slope according to project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, align, repair underground utility pipes and structures for water, sewer, storm, and fire line systems.
- Measure, cut, connect pipes using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Ensure proper grading, sloping and compaction of trenches to meet design requirements.
- Assist with trench excavation, shoring and backfilling operations.
- Use level lasers, transits, and grade rods to maintain accurate elevations.
- Follow safety protocols, including trench safety and confined space entry procedures.
- Work closely with equipment operators, foreman and other crew members for efficiency.
- Minimum 2 years experience in underground utility installation, pipe laying, or related excavation work.
- Knowledge of various types of pipe and installation methods.
- Certifications (can obtain once hired, training provided by Layton Services):
- OSHA 10 and OSHA Trenching & Excavating
