Job Overview :
The Burbank Parking Enforcement office is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Bike Officer. In this role, you will primarily patrol assigned areas on an electric bike to enforce parking regulations, especially in the Downtown Burbank district.
Key Responsibilities :
Patrol designated areas, focusing on the enforcement of expired meters, safety violations and other parking rules and regulations.Utilize an e-bike to cover various locations efficiently.Issue parking citations and handle enforcement tasks according to established procedures.Interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner.Answer customer service questions as it relates to meters and enforcement.Maintain records of enforcement activities.Required Qualifications :
Previous bike patrol experience.Strong understanding of parking regulations and enforcement procedures.Ability to ride an e-bike for extended periods.Good communication and customer service skills.Work Schedule :
Shift schedules are as follows (subject to change based on operational needs) :
Shift A : Wednesday - Sunday (Monday / Tuesday OFF), 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pmShift B : Wednesday - Sunday (Monday / Tuesday OFF), 2 : 30 pm - 11 : 00 pmShift C : Monday, Tuesday, Friday - Sunday (Wednesday / Thursday OFF), 9 : 30 am - 6 : 00 pmTo be successful in this role you must have :
High School Diploma or equivalent.At least two years of work experience in a related field or customer service.Ability to learn and apply knowledge of parking regulations, including the California Vehicle Code and Burbank Municipal Code.Proficiency in using a handheld device for data entry.Physical ability to bike, walk, and enter / exit vehicles frequently in various weather conditions.Familiarity with bicycle safety, especially in traffic.Strong sense of direction.Ability to report on time for shifts and work holidays if scheduled.Flexibility to work holidays or mandatory special events.Additional desired experience and skills :
Excellent communication skills, including conflict de-escalation.Additional desired skills include :Traffic control experience.
Knowledge of radio calls (10-codes and NATO alphabet)Familiarity with Burbank streets and boundaries.Experience with electric bicycles.MUST Possess Valid CA Driver's LicensePhysical Demands :
