LAZ's continued growth has created an opportunity in the Corporate Accounting Services department for a talented Corporate Regional Accountant with public and / or private accounting experience to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of monthly accounting and reporting for an assigned region comprised of 100 leased and managed parking locations.
The Spirit of the Position
The Regional Corporate Accountant will accurately reconcile and journalize accounting entries for monthly corporate activity, including revenues, costs / expenses, and other financial activity. Timely report monthly income statements by location and prepare a concise financial summary with budget variance analysis that accurately evaluates the company's regional performance. Schedule and actively participate in monthly financial reviews with regional field operations and executive management. This is a hybrid position working 3 days in our Hartford, CT Headquarters, and 2 days remotely.
What does your day to day look like at LAZ?
- Monthly accounting and reporting for individual leased locations within an assigned region
- Perform required month-end close activities for each location, including accurate preparation and recording of all journal entries.
- Complete regional bank reconciliations using auto matching application.
- Generate monthly income statements by location and prepare a summary which evaluates operating results incorporating explanations for significant budget variances.
- Reconcile regional Balance Sheets and related asset, liability and equity accounts. Prepare analysis and lead sheets, when appropriate.
- Compile and prepare monthly client distribution packages and submit for approval and payment.
- Calculate, prepare, and file all applicable tax returns, including property, parking, and sales and use taxes.
- Timely prepare schedules and supporting documents related to year-end audit requests.
- Communicate and interact with regional and facility personnel working in the field.
