Reporting directly to the Safety & Training Manager, this role involves designing and executing comprehensive safety training programs, conducting driver evaluations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations. The Safety Trainer collaborates closely with the Shuttle Operations Manager and other leadership team members, with an emphasis on supporting afternoon, evening, and weekend operations.

Compensation: $30.00/hour; non-tipped
Key Responsibilities:
- Mission Alignment: Ensure all employees understand and adhere to the company’s mission, values, and safety practices.
- Training Delivery: Facilitate classroom and field training sessions for new hires, emphasizing job responsibilities and safety protocols.
- Road Readiness Evaluation: Assess new hires’ road readiness using criteria established by the Safety Manager.
- Monthly Safety Meetings: Assist in planning and conducting monthly safety training sessions for shuttle operations staff.
- Behind-the-Wheel Training: Provide hands-on driving training to ensure employees are operationally competent and safety-focused.
- Driver Evaluations: Perform routine driver evaluations as directed by the Safety Manager, focusing on performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Feedback and Recommendations: Offer actionable feedback and recommendations to the Safety Manager based on evaluations and field observations.
- Documentation Compliance: Accurately complete and maintain all required documentation to meet regulatory standards.
- DOT Compliance: Support efforts to maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Driver DOT Files: Assist in the preparation and upkeep of driver DOT files to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Safety Concerns and Hazards: Identify and report potential safety risks or hazards encountered during field operations, working proactively to mitigate them.
- Policy Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of safety policies and procedures to enhance the safety culture.
- Safety Training Program Development: Collaborate on the development and enhancement of the DEN safety training program.
- Safety Incentive Program: Assist in creating and implementing safety incentive programs to encourage employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Safety Manager or Shuttle Operations leadership.
Requirements:
- Licensing: Valid Class B license with air brake and passenger endorsements.
- Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years in commercial transportation or paratransit operations.
- Minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory role within commercial transportation or paratransit operations.
- Screening: Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Driving Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Regulatory Knowledge:
- Familiarity with DOT rules and regulations.
- Understanding of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) regulations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extended Experience:
- Five (5) years in commercial transportation or paratransit operations.
- Three (3) years in a supervisory role within commercial transportation or paratransit operations.
- Certifications:
- TSI (Transportation Safety Institute) Certification.
- Smith System Certification.
- Operational Experience:
- Experience in parking operations.
- Experience in an airport environment.
- Familiarity with drive cam/telematics systems.
