Shelter Operations Team Member – Part-Time (16 hours)
Lazarus House is an emergency shelter for those experiencing homelessness and is located downtown Saint Charles, IL. We are a 24/7 program that serves people in need of a safe place to stay. We provide shelter, meals, showers, laundry, case management, as well as educational and employment classes to all who enter our doors.
We are in need of a person to join the Operations Team for these hours:
Mondays, 2:00-6:00pm
Thursdays, 6:30pm-10:30pm
Sundays, 2:30-10:30pm
Eligible for PTO benefits based on 16 hours per week.
General responsibilities are:
· Ensure safety and support of our guests & volunteers, showing empathy & compassion.
· Assist guests in acclimating to and following house guidelines.
· Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with guests.
· Help maintain the daily routine of the shelter including meal prep, answering phones, etc.
· Maintain a clean environment.
· Foster rapport with donors & volunteers.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time, squat, kneel, climb and lift up to 25 lbs.
· Positivity a must!
· Social service background a plus!
