We’re looking for a friendly, energetic, and self-motivated team player who enjoys connecting with others and finds fulfillment in providing outstanding hospitality. The ideal candidate has a passion for sharing knowledge about our wines, regenerative agriculture, and the importance of pollinators, while also driving sales through engaging tastings and enthusiastic storytelling.
This position is responsible for managing day-to-day on-ranch operations for guest experiences for the winery, ensuring that every visitor connects with Lazy Z Ranch Wines in an authentic and engaging way. Until the tasting room officially opens, the Tasting Room Manager will oversee outdoor on-site hours, setting up and running welcoming, informative wine tastings in our natural farm setting. This includes managing guest hospitality, daily setup and breakdown, and wine sales, all while creating a memorable and immersive experience.
This role works independently and collaboratively with the Owners and team to refine customer service processes, on-site event logistics, and operational flow in preparation for the full opening. The manager will also assist with inventory management, merchandising, and customer engagement strategies to ensure a smooth transition to a permanent tasting room experience.
As a representative of Lazy Z Ranch Wines, this role requires strict adherence to Oregon State Liquor Laws and a commitment to upholding the standards of our brand.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the tasting room, ensuring a high standard of service is maintained.
- Train, manage, and motivate staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Develop and implement tasting room programs and events that enhance guest engagement.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote tastings, special events, and wine releases.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the tasting room.
- Manage inventory levels of wines and merchandise, placing orders as necessary.
- Handle customer inquiries and feedback professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hospitality or food service management, preferably in a tasting room or restaurant setting.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests effectively.
- Knowledge of wine varieties, food pairings, and fine dining practices is highly desirable.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
