The CXT Production Manager will serve as a true strategic partner, providing leadership and guidance to Hawkeye Pipe Plant supervisors and workforce. Directly responsible for production, communication, safety, reliability, continuous improvement, quality and regulatory compliance. Production Manager has direct impact on the fiscal stability of the business and productivity of the Hawkeye plant.
- Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines.
- Responsible for ensuring and enforcing all aspects of the Safety System, training, documentation, and compliance.
- Manages operations of the plant, projects, continuous improvement and EHS programs.
- Facilitate production meetings to ensure proper communication and updates for operations, highlighting daily operating goals, tasks, requirements and any safety or quality concerns.
- Partner with plant leadership and Quality Department to ensure non-conformances are investigated, corrective actions are put in place, and training is provided to eliminate repetitive non-conformances.
- Interact with management to report status, address challenges, and resolve project discrepancies.
- Track, analyze, forecast and report on budget and goals.
- Control workflow to ensure the effective use of resources (labor, tools, equipment) and maximum use of available capacity.
- Manage production schedule to ensure production goals are delivered and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Work effectively with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Human Resources to ensure goals and objectives for the facility are met.
- Ensure environmental compliance and social responsibility.
- Coach, mentor and train salary and hourly workforce.
- Through support and coordination ensure training and development of all production personnel.
- Identify potential in personnel, and sponsor, mentor and ensure development.
- Responsible for maintaining a 5S environment and implementing LEAN principles and practices.
- Establish goals, communicate expectations and build a culture of accountability, commitment and empowerment; provide motivation, support and guidance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education & Licenses
- HS Diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 years' experience in a leadership role in the precast industry, specifically in production and management of a dry cast plant.
- Must have 5 years of dry cast box culvert and Hawkeye pipe machinery experience.
- Experience in applying LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S principles.
