GENERAL SUMMARY:
Electrical Maintenance technician in automotive manufacturing facility. Position will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, production machines, pumps, material handling equipment, blending/mixing systems, stamping presses, robotic equipment, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic/hydraulic problems on all plant equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
- Complete work orders in a timely manner to the highest quality standards.
- Daily reporting of all work performed - effective shift pass downs and log book entries.
- Confers with engineering staff to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety and GMP policies/guidelines.
- Generate parts request and help to maintain adequate inventory organization and help maintain accurate stock status
- Maintains safe and clean working environment at all times
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Mechanical Skills (including but not limited to):
- Ability to work safely. Maintain safe work environment; communicate issues and take corrective actions when safety issues arise. Strong understanding of OSHA safety guidelines. Execute and maintain safety procedures in order to eliminate all accidents.
- Must have experience working on pneumatic systems, piping and pump systems, conveyors, gear boxes, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment in accordance with the established schedule that is determined and assigned by the department manager. Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed.
- Overhaul, dismantle, and reassemble equipment.
Electrical Skills (including but not limited to):
- Industrial electrical experience along with the ability to diagnose/install electrical motors, drives, and controls.
- Must have strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC’s and HMI’s.
- Must be able to read, write, and troubleshoot ladder logic.
- Install all types of wiring, main service drops, and 480 volt 3 phase systems.
- Must be able to read electric schematics and have knowledge of the National Electric Code.
Additional Skills Required
- Install improvements to equipment to enhance quality, safety, or increase of production.
- Read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and equipment drawings and manuals.
- Maintain good housekeeping in all production areas and shop.
- Ability to make continuous process improvements.
- Familiar with Six Sigma and 5S work practices.
- Self-motivated, open minded, intuitive team player with a good working attitude and good interpersonal skills, and a solid work ethic.
- PC proficient using MS Office.
- Capable of working without direct supervision, capable of following verbal and written instructions with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work independently as well as efficiently in a team environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school (required).
- Industrial maintenance Associates degree Preferred
- 2 years experience in a production manufacturing environment Preferred
- Must be able to complete forklift and man lift certifications
PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS:
- Exerting up to (50) pounds for force often, and/or up to (20) pounds of force frequently, up to (75) pounds on occasion, and/or up to (10) pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
