What are the responsibilities and job description for the Class A Truck Driver / Warehouse position at LB Water Service, Inc?
General Overview
The driver operates a small, medium, or heavy truck for regular deliveries and pickups. The vehicle may include a trailer, and a Class A driver’s license is required.
Interaction with others involves courteous communication and straightforward information exchange. The driver is expected to maintain a positive attitude, uphold a professional appearance, and arrive on time as agreed upon or instructed by the supervisor. Participation in company and location meetings is also expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain certifications for various machinery, equipment, and CDL license requirements.
- Foster clear communication with sales personnel and yard staff.
- Verify the accuracy of deliveries before leaving the location.
- Confirm the accuracy of orders upon delivery to customers.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both field and walk-in customers.
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Ensure assigned truck is in proper condition before starting deliveries.
- Assist in pulling orders for the following day when returning from deliveries.
- If necessary, make pre-arranged calls with the job site contact person.
- Consistently meet delivery commitments.
- Act as a liaison between customers in the field and sales staff.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and take pride in the company’s image.
- Treat co-workers with respect and professionalism.
- Plan routes efficiently to ensure optimal use of time and resources within schedule constraints.
- Ensure all delivery and pick-up documentation is accurate and complete.
- Record relevant information such as distance traveled and fuel consumption.
- Notify the supervisor of any necessary repairs or maintenance.
Yard Staff Duties
- Take on any additional tasks required to ensure the job is completed effectively.
