Waterworks Industry Estimator - Frederick, MD

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Estimator. In this role, you will be responsible for creating accurate and comprehensive take-offs and bills of materials for a diverse range of projects, including commercial site developments, highway construction, water and sewer systems, and planning initiatives. Utilizing PlanSwift software, you will ensure that all necessary materials, quantities, and specifications are carefully documented to support the successful execution of each project.

This position offers a blend of structured guidance and independence, allowing you to work closely with experienced colleagues while also giving you the autonomy to take ownership of your tasks and deliver results. You will be a key player in our project teams, helping to streamline project planning and ensuring that all materials and resources are properly accounted for. Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and addendums.
• Conduct take-offs to create accurate bills of materials for company sales teams to quote to customers.
• Understand the full range of products distributed by LB Water.
• Request clarifications from vendors and engineers as needed throughout the bidding process.
• Provide project-specific support to the Inside/Outside Sales team, addressing questions between customers, owners, and engineers.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned, ensuring timely project completion.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong computer skills, with a willingness to quickly learn new software (PlanSwift experience is a plus).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with a positive and adaptable attitude.
• Comfortable reprioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment without frustration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in construction, estimating, or project management.

Salary Range:
The salary for this position is competitive and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The expected salary range is $65,000 - $75,000 per year. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% Employer paid health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional development.
