Position Overview
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, selection, packaging, loading, and shipping of products. The role requires strong organizational skills to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality service to customers, and smooth coordination between warehouse and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all necessary certifications for equipment and machinery are maintained and up to date.
- Foster clear and ongoing communication with sales, yard staff, and other departments to support operational efficiency.
- Monitor and control costs by improving personnel productivity, optimizing storage space, and safeguarding materials.
- Advise on warehouse and material handling equipment needs, including recommendations for replacements.
- Enforce company policies regarding conduct and safety, taking necessary disciplinary actions when required.
- Investigate the causes of product losses and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Lead a team responsible for product tracking, route analysis, and making re-routing recommendations to improve efficiency.
- Oversee the management and operation of the organization's vehicle fleet and facilities.
- Develop and implement effective routing strategies that meet schedule constraints while optimizing resources.
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively to meet company goals.
General Expectations
Education / Experience
Prior experience in a similar warehouse or logistics management role is preferred.
