Position Overview:
As a Mortgage Loan Underwriter, you will work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and clients to ensure the timely and accurate processing of mortgage applications. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment will be critical in delivering exceptional service and helping our clients secure the best loan options available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and process mortgage loan applications from submission to closing
- Gather and prepare required loan documentation, including credit reports, income verification, and property appraisals
- Communicate with clients, loan officers, underwriters, and other parties to ensure all necessary information is received and verified
- Track and manage the progress of loan files, ensuring all conditions and stipulations are met in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of all loan decisions, including approval conditions and required follow-ups
- Provide feedback and support to loan officers regarding loan program guidelines and underwriting decisions
- Ensure timely and efficient decision-making to meet deadlines and customer expectations
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mortgage Loan Underwriter or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products, guidelines, and processing requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing loan applications and documents
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, loan officers, and third-party vendors
- Proficiency in mortgage processing software and tools (e.g., Encompass, Calyx)
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Understanding of mortgage industry regulations and compliance requirements
