Stitcher/Sewing Operator Job Description:
Stitcher/Sewing Operator is to participate in our warehouse operations and activities. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Sewing various items and materials on a variety of different sewing machines such as tackers, flatbeds, and single needle, and double needles.
Performance measurements will be established for operator efficiencies and target goals. Customer satisfactions and reduced customer complaints on order shipment errors is vital to future growth.
Responsibilities
- Keep a clean and clear work area to enhance a safe working environment
- Report any discrepancies
- Communicate and cooperate with co-workers
- Operate and maintain preventative measures on equipment (mobile ladders)
- Follow and comply with all procedures, rules and regulations
Requirements
- MUST HAVE CLEAN BACKGROUND
- MUST PASS DRUG SCREEN
- Ability to use sewing machines as needed to provide quality stitching
- Ability to recognize and perform preventative maintenance on parts of the sewing machine
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot common problems such as setting tensions, changing threads, and needles, etc.
- Ability to work with hands to manipulate material as needed
- Ability to stand, bend over, and sit for long periods of time
- Ability to read work orders, pay attention to detail and write neatly
- Ability to work in hot factory environment
- Familiar with LBI factory practices and methods
- Good organizational skills
- Good in math, able to read and follow instructions
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to set at lengths of time in front of a sewing machine
- Avoid excessive communication within the department
