Financial Operations & Accounting Manager position that is accounting-focused but also has a heavy-focus and strong working knowledge with Payroll/Payroll taxes, Benefits, & 401K administration responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with system implementations efforts
- Assist with audit preparation and audit requests
- Manage the payroll process and assist with payroll implementation
- Bi-weekly Payroll
- Responsible for bi-weekly payroll for 5 entities
- Coordinate / gather information from Heads of Schools
- New hires / terminations –
- Manage from payroll perspective & benefits / 401k
- Employee communication – what to expect, timing, etc
- Taxes – federal & state
- Manage process with Paylocity – quarterly returns
- Manage benefits ongoing and assist with open enrollment
- Carrier bills – monthly review to ensure proper employee classification, bill rates, pending credits and premiums due
- Ongoing management of 401k plan with existing employees, new hires and terminations
- Oversee Accounts Payable
- Assist with implementing best practices in QuickBooks for all entities
- Lead AP automation process – research solutions, meet with possible vendors, propose solution
- Manage W-9 / 1099 process: Recurring review during year & YE tax forms
- Manage current Ramp credit card process and lead conversion to new setup for each school
- Maintain books for corporate office, local school & one NC school
- Work with outsourced bookkeeper for two schools and assist with new schools as needed
- Assist with Monthly close process
- Work closely with Controller to meet deadlines
- Work with CFO & Controller to calculate Deferred Revenue, this includes clear understanding of each school’s invoicing / revenue process
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- QuickBooks experience preferred – ideally both Desktop and Online
- Strong technical skills
