We’d like to welcome a Learning & Development (L&D) Manager to LBS Financial responsible for managing the design and implementation of credit union-wide learning and development programs for all levels of staff.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads and manages the Learning & Development team to position LBS Financial as an employer of choice, promoting a culture that encourages continuous learning. Facilitates professional development and continuous learning by proactively collaborating with Human Resources and senior leadership to solicit training needs, deliver customized solutions and publish a 3-year business plan/annual training calendar to promote LBS Financial’s Strategic Pillars, Values, and annual initiatives. Promotes individual and team development programs in order to build competencies and internal bench strength. Manages and develops full- and/or part-time learning specialists, L&D Coordinator, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver training, resulting in achievement of LBS Financial’s vision, mission and Member service standards (FACES). Effectively uses virtual platforms to facilitate distance learning. Manages vendor relationships, including external facilitators, from proposals to contract management, in order to accomplish Credit Union learning objectives within budget. Continually evaluates the effectiveness of training programs to ensure return on investment for training dollars spent. Ensures that training programs and materials are refreshed frequently and maintained with up-to-date operational practices and procedures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES:
- Five to eight years demonstrated experience in developing successful, organization-wide training programs.
- Three to five years supervisory/management experience in a training environment, leading others in a direct reporting relationship as well as subject matter experts and through cross-functional teams and projects.
- Experience in behavioral training (Member service/sales, personal and leadership development training).
- Financial institution experience, in a key Member service position or supervisory/management capacity.
- Demonstrated success in working with executive/senior level leadership, including communications, assessments, and project management.
- Strong project management, time management and organizational skills, taking a project from the concept stage to full implementation with minimal supervision from senior leadership.
- Strong experience in instructional design, to include needs assessment, development of content and training materials, delivery of training and facilitated learning.
- Experience in the assessment and delivery of training/management techniques.
- Creative ability, writing proficiency and visual/graphics design ability. Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills.
- Proficient in computer skills and programs, such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Expertise with a Learning Management System (LMS) which includes scheduling, content management, and instructional design.
- Possesses highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, specifically in the area of training delivery and classroom management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of credit union employees, trainers from other credit unions and other business partners, including professional groups and key vendors.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary, to interview or conduct training to meet business requirements.
- Ability to understand global, strategic plans and integrate philosophies into actionable, visible and usable materials. This includes LBS Financial’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, Strategic Planning/Initiatives and Member service standards (FACES).
- Proficient in eLearning, mobile learning, intranet development software and other technologies as needed. Proficiency in key development software including Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Canva among others.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or related major) with a concentration in Human Resources, Organizational Design, Instructional Curriculum Development, Education, Communications, or related field.
- Knowledge of and experience with principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effectiveness.
- Training certifications with recognized training organizations (e.g. ASTD, SHRM, Franklin Covey, Achieve Global, DDI, MBTI, DiSC, etc.).
- Demonstrated success in project management, to include entire process from problem/solution identification through complete implementation and ROI feedback.
- Knowledge and experience in the development of policies and operational procedures and the organization of technical publications into a user-friendly searchable database.

PAY RANGE
In accordance with California’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between:
$90,000 - $120,000 - Annually
Actual pay will be determined based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including their knowledge, skills, education and experience, internal equity consideration, as well as other job-related factors permitted by law.
