Handyman

Job description

We are a boutique residential Real Estate Company located on the Upper East Side looking for an experienced handyman/porter to join our team. The ideal applicant would have excellent customer service skills, prior work experience and the ability to multitask.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Responsible for upkeep of multiple building interior and exterior.

· Shampoos carpeting in buildings as needed.

· Sweeps mops and vacuums each floor of assigned buildings daily.

· Prepares property trash for city pick-up.

· Assists in the cleaning of vacant apartments

· Reports any maintenance concerns in the buildings to the Maintenance Supervisor(s).

· Maintains sidewalk and curb area.

· Apartment turnovers--painting, plumbing, flooring, tiling, sheetrock, carpentry, etc.

· Perform building maintenance such as changing locks, plumbing and painting.

· Lay floor tile; granite with dirt mat & thin set. Demo floors

· Utilize cell phone to receive work orders and assist with tenant calls

· Exhibit exceptional work ethic and complete projects in an efficient, clean and neat manner

· Pass background screening

· Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure with a team

· Get vacancies ready by cleaning, painting, sanding floors and waxing floors.

· Replace hardwood floors.

· Patch, spackle, paint, caulking

· Tile Floors/Wall Tiles, lay hardwood floors

· Install Vanity, Kitchen Cabinets, Countertop

Qualifications

· Basic proficiency of reading and writing of the English language.

· Minimum one year full‐time related experience.

· Willingness to perform all required tasks.

· Ability to professionally represent the company.

· Attention to detail

· Ability to organize and prioritize work.

· Ability to work individually and with a team.

· Must be able to work Mon-Fri with flexibility for weekends

· Knowledge of buffing and waxing wood floorings is a plusy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
