Flower Bed Maintenance Technician

The Flower Bed Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that the flower beds of our clients are well-maintained, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing. The role involves tasks such as weeding, pruning, mulching, and inspecting for proper irrigation, all while maintaining a high standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weed flower beds regularly to maintain a neat and tidy appearance
- Apply mulch to flower beds to help with weed control, moisture retention, and aesthetic value
- Prune and deadhead flowers, shrubs, and other plants to promote growth and health
- Inspect plants for pests and diseases and report any concerns to the supervisor for further treatment
- Assist in planting seasonal flowers and plants, ensuring proper soil preparation and planting techniques
- Water plants as needed and ensure the irrigation system is functioning properly
- Maintain and clean all equipment before and after use
- Assist with flower bed design and layout when needed
- Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction
- Document work performed and reported any issues or suggestions to the supervisor
Requirements:
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance or gardening preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of plant care, including pruning, fertilization, and pest control preferred
- Ability to safely use gardening tools and equipment, such as pruners, shears, hoes, and shears
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize plant diseases and pests
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and bending for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
