Pump Operators are responsible for operating concrete pumps at jobsites to deliver ready-mixed concrete to the final intended location. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the pump to meet the needs of different projects. The Concrete Pump Operator must be adept at handling the equipment and possess a strong knowledge of safety practices and regulations.
Pay : $25 to $32 / hour, depending on experience
Schedule : Full-time
Essential Functions and Duties :
Monitor gauges and inspect equipment to ensure proper tank levels, temperatures, and pressures, reporting any issues
Record operational data, including quantities pumped, stocks used, and operating times
Communicate with team members to manage material flows
Read instructions or receive orders to determine pumping quantities
Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety readiness
Maintain logs for work hours, vehicle service, and repairs per regulations
Obtain receipts / signatures for deliveries and collect payments when required
Maneuver trucks into loading positions and secure cargo for transport
Report vehicle defects, accidents, and violations
Perform maintenance on pumps and connect hoses / pipelines
Qualifications :
Vocational training or job-related experience
Must hold a valid Class C vehicle operator’s license
Ability to read instructions and keep routine written records
Ability to work overtime and Saturdays on an as-needed basis
Ability to regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds as required
