Job Title: Data Analyst / Report Writer, Associate – Power BI
Job Summary: We are seeking a Mid-Level Data Analyst / Report Writer with expertise in Power BI to support our Client for Unemployment Insurance (UI) Modernization initiative. The analyst will play a key role in delivering impactful data insights, performance reports, visualizations, and executive dashboards across state-level UI programs. This role involves working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, including federal staff, state representatives, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with integrated product teams (IPTs) to understand reporting requirements and business objectives related to UI program modernization.
- Extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources (on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments).
- Design and develop dynamic reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for federal and state stakeholders.
- Develop statistical reports, executive presentations, and graphical representations to support decision-making.
- Prepare and maintain standardized and ad-hoc reports (e.g., Implementation Plans, After Action Reports, Lessons Learned).
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all reports and data deliverables.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and business analysts to ensure data/reporting solutions align with evolving UI modernization efforts.
- Contribute to documentation for data analysis processes, data definitions, and visual standards.
- Support change management and communications efforts by providing digestive data summaries and visual content.
Qualifications

3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence roles.

Strong expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and dashboard development.

Proficiency in SQL for data querying, extraction, and transformation.

Experience working with cloud and hybrid data environments (e.g., Azure, AWS).

Solid understanding of performance metrics, KPIs, and data visualization best practices.

Ability to gather requirements from diverse stakeholders and translate them into technical reporting solutions.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Comfortable working in an Agile/SCRUM team environment.

Ability to produce executive-level reports and presentations with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.

Familiarity with Unemployment Insurance systems and/or public sector programs.

Experience working on federal or state-level IT modernization projects.

Exposure to tools and platforms such as Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or SSRS is a plus.

Understanding of NIST and FISMA compliance frameworks is a bonus.
Compensation and Benefits
The target salary for this position is $98,000 for the DMV area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
