What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt Paving Foreman position at LCI-Lineberger Construction, Inc.?
LCI-Lineberger Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Foreman for our paving operations. The basic function of the Construction Foreman is to provide the necessary planning, organization, and coordination to ensure that their assigned projects is completed to required specifications, in a safe manner, within budget and on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises all phases of paving operations such as maintenance of equipment, employees and distribution of product.
- Measures slope and material thickness to verify compliance with contract specifications.
- Ensures equipment is serviced, lubricated and in good working order.
- Communicates daily with Project Manager or Project Superintendent to discuss schedule and production needs.
- Plans, organizes, and coordinates daily activities and work assignments of the team.
- Maintains time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing .
- Ensures the safety of crew members and the public who may interact with the job.
- Must have a basic knowledge of abilities and limitations in all applications. Ability to recognize potential problems before breakdowns occur.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures.
- Performs other tasks as needed.
- Qualification and Experience Requirements:
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in asphalt paving (Required)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Foreman role (Required)
- Driver's license (Required)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, contract specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Computer knowledge and experience to report time, job costing, materials, etc. HCSS Heavy Job a plus.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees and others.
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Critical thinking and complex problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in all weather environments.
- Ability to maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees, contractors, the operation of stationary equipment an the movement of mobile equipment.
- Education Requirement:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
