TCS Driver Job Description Driver Fleet [Private & Standard]
Under the supervision of the Area Manager, who reports to the Fleet and Safety Management team, TCS drivers perform various customer service functions. They must demonstrate professionalism with members, be attentive to passenger safety, perform timely transport to and from appointments, and provide member support while in their care. TCS Fleet operation's basic objectives are no missed trips, no late trips, and driver efficiency. All associates of TCS, regardless of title and responsibilities, must be focused on our basic operational objectives and share a commitment to TCS's core values of teamwork, excellence, trust, respect, and accountability.
Shift Set & Work Week: Sun-Sat; 4-5 Workdays as FTE, Overtime Available - current need is 4am-2pm or 5am-3pm Sat to Wed off Thur/Fri
Responsibilities & Expectations
Safety - No at-fault accidents (e.g. no negligent driving, distracted driving, tailgating, etc.); Safety Score Monitoring via in vehicle camera: 90% or better (scores are graded on: speeding, harsh driving, collisions, distracted driving, traffic signal inattention)
No Missed trips - Transport members to and from destinations as listed on mobile devices. Communicate delays or disruptions to supervisor and fleet dispatchers.
No Late Trips - Ensure no late pickups or drop-offs while operating company vehicles.
Driver Efficiency: measured in completed trips/hr by urban/rural county category
2 trips/hr Urban Ambulatory
1 trip/hr Wheelchair/Rural Ambulatory/Long Distance
Accurately record work hours via mobile clock in/out - work hours are defined as conducting trips or traveling to/from locations to conduct trips.
Provide appropriate member assistance, including but not limited to wheelchair-bound passengers, disabled passengers, small children, blind passengers, and elderly passengers. Assistance includes collecting bags/items upon arrival, extend arm to stabilize members when walking to and from the vehicle, walk members into the doorway of appointment offices and in/out of their homes
Provide members with posted information to file complaints for any feedback or dissatisfaction
Accurately complete daily digital driver logs, vehicle inspections, and any other requested forms or miscellaneous paperwork as required. Communicate any abnormal mechanical issues to the supervisor.
Maintain a level of professionalism with members according to TCS company standards. This includes being courteous, remaining aware of passenger needs throughout transport, displaying a positive attitude, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, communicating professionally, and maintaining professional attire.
Maintain communication with the direct supervisor, dispatch staff, and other TCS management/staff to update and/or escalate issues as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Conditions
Passenger Vehicles: Toyota Sienna minivans, Chrysler Pacifica minivans, Ford Transit Vans (or equivalent).
On-call availability periodically
Drive and transport/assist members and customers in all weather conditions. Including but not limited to:
Offering First Aid services; Performing CPR in the event of a medical emergency
Clear a walkway, spec. clearing debris or shoveling snow for in the event of inclement weather for ambulatory & wheelchair-bound members
Lifting (up to 30lbs) passenger bags, car seats, walkers or other items on arrival to their residence or designated drop-off location into and out of the vehicle
Wheelchair transport: assisting and pushing wheelchair-bound members (100lbs 400lbs) from the door of their residence, loading & securing members in vehicle, disembarking and moving members to the entry of their respective appointment or drop-off location
Operating hydraulic lift equipment on wheelchair-equipped vehicles

Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Daily travel is required.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to effectively take direction.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen at all times.
Current drivers license.
Have and maintain a driving record with no DUIs, OWIs, points, suspensions, or other negative results not listed.
Ability to utilize transportation technology solutions (mobile phone or tablet device)
Working knowledge of cell phones and transportation management software (mobile applications with navigation)
