Transportation Specialist Job Description (TCS)
The transportation specialist role focuses on securing successful trip completion of NEMT (Non-Emergency Medical Transportation) services for all scheduled members efficiently through TCS driver schedule creation. This pivotal position requires proficiency in communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail to ensure driver efficiency, and on-time pickup and drop-off. Regardless of title and responsibilities, all TCS associates must share a common commitment to the company's core values of trust, teamwork, respect, accountability, and excellence.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- No Missed Trips Completion of driver schedules 5 days in advance assigning all available trips
- No Late Trips Creation of routes with no late pickups or drop-offs (i.e. members are picked up at their set pickup times, and dropped for every appointment 15min early)

Driver Efficiency: Create driver schedules that achieve the target number of trip legs per hour based on territory:
- Urban Ambulatory: 2 trips/hr

Wheelchair/Rural Ambulatory and Long Distance: 1 trip/hr
- Efficiency is defined as meeting or exceeding the target trip capacity for a given shift (i.e. 8hr shift = 16 trips assigned to an urban ambulatory driver)
- Publish next day schedules by 4pm daily.
- Utilize information resources, tools, and routing applications to efficiently assign all trips and standing orders to drivers without significant timing delays or difficulties
- Prioritize, coordinate, and assign scheduled trips within assigned territory based on available drivers.
- Track and report via email total trips rejected to LCP Trip Assignment daily, and the number of drivers required to complete listed rejected trips
- Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures to ensure accurate service outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings to provide updates and discuss problem-resolution scenarios.
- Access required system applications, communication, and reporting tools accurately and timely.
- Understands and accesses all required system applications, communication, and reporting tools to perform job duties accurately and timely and helps the team consistently use all systems and tools.
- Communicates and enforces a professional, positive image and attitude with clients, management, and subordinates.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- In office (5 days/week)
- Strong communication skills, ability to listen and speak plainly, and work within a team setting.
- Proficiency in multitasking and problem-solving.
- Ability to effectively take direction.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen at all times.
- Current drivers license.
- Ability to utilize transportation technology solutions (computer software), and type a minimum of 40wpm
