As a Transmission Planning Engineer, you will be involved in coordinating with our customers and conducting comprehensive studies on the integration of different technologies, including wind, solar, energy storage, data center loads, and large industrial loads. You will utilize advanced tools like Siemens PSSE, DSA Tools, and PSCAD to model and analyze power system dynamics. Your primary focus will be on developing transmission solutions that ensure NERC Compliance and address steady state and stability violations resulting from system disturbances.

You Will Be Trusted To
- Conduct generation and load interconnection studies, including feasibility, system impact, steady state, and stability contingency analysis.
- Identify and propose transmission upgrade solutions to address issues identified through interconnection studies, ensuring a reliable power system.
- Lead and facilitate interconnection requests with developers, fostering collaboration and ensuring an efficient and customer-focused interconnection process.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of relevant ERCOT and NERC reliability standards, interconnection related rules and regulations, and modeling practices, ensuring strict compliance.
- Collaborate closely with internal transmission planning, engineering, and project management teams to support project development and successfully implement transmission solutions.
- Create detailed reports and analyses of technical findings, presenting study results in a clear and practical manner to relevant parties.
- Take on any other duties as assigned, demonstrating your versatility and dedication to the team's success.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas plus eight or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job, including providing technical leadership in engineering.
- Driver's license
- Experience running load flow analysis software such as PSSE and or other applications such as VSAT and PSCAD.
- Experienced in performing planning and interconnection studies.
- Knowledgeable in NERC, ERCOT reliability standards and interconnection requirements.
