What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator Sr - Electrical/Utilities position at LCRA?
Perform duties associated with the acquisition of bid materials as well as evaluating engineering specifications, designs, and requirements for utility goods or services.
Evaluate bid materials and create bid estimates, proposals, and / or cost quotations for labor, materials, or allied services associated with project specifications, bid requests, and requests-for-proposal.
Extrapolate detailed information from engineering prints to calculate labor and non-labor costs.
Perform analysis of labor efforts, pricing, rates, and / or billing data; as well as generate and submit complex (or ad hoc) reports and metrics to management.
Often implement duties at an accelerated rate to keep up with fast pace conditions to meet deadlines.
Perform site visits, attends pre-bid meetings, and generally interact with internal and external customers or representatives.
Document changes made to documents or systems by detailed research, communication and recordkeeping. Document activities in logs, files, system prints, and other records, or through other written or verbal communication with co-workers or customers.
Perform in-depth quality assurance and quality control of data and documentation.
Seek out and recommend appropriate process improvements to internal and external processes.
Monitor current construction project performance and reporting. May manage customer projects including scope, schedule, budget, and invoicing.
You qualify with :
Nine or more years of experience in substation construction, line construction, utility operations, engineering, finance, accounting, economics, or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in business, economics, mathematics, engineering, accounting, statistics, finance, or relevant field experience may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for specific years of experience.
