Job Description: Financial Due Diligence / Transaction Advisory Senior Associate


Position Overview:


This position requires you to physically live and be able to work in the Denver office 4-5 days a week. 


We seek an experienced and detail-oriented Associate to join our Financial Due Diligence / Transaction Advisory team. As a Senior Associate, you will be critical in conducting comprehensive financial analyses to support our clients' merger, acquisition, and investment decisions. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground level of a merit-based, collaborative team whose senior professionals span relationships and industry expertise across various verticals. This person will be part of a nimble, entrepreneurial team responsible for sourcing and executing M&A advisory engagements with new and existing clients, including buy-side and sell-side mandates, strategic asset reviews, and valuation assessments. The ideal candidate will support the execution of M&A assignments, working closely with client executives, the internal deal team, external counsel, accountants, and consultants.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough financial due diligence on target companies and investment opportunities, including analyzing historical financial statements, projections, key performance indicators (KPIs), and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with client management, legal teams, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information and insights necessary for the due diligence process.
  • Assist in preparing comprehensive due diligence reports, outlining key findings, risks, and opportunities for clients.
  • Prepare financial models, valuations, and sensitivity analyses to evaluate the financial impact of proposed transactions.
  • Analyze complex financial data, perform variance analysis, and present findings clearly and concisely.
  • Support in developing transaction structures and negotiation strategies based on financial insights.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss findings and recommendations, building strong client relationships.
  • Collaborate with team and work effectively in cross-functional and client-facing environments.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 plus years of audit and/or transaction advisory experience within various industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • An active CPA (or proven progress towards).
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation methods, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and strong working knowledge of other MS Office applications.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and delivering presentations to clients and internal teams.
  • Proven project management skills, including managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality work.
  • Outstanding achievement in academics, employment, and personal endeavors.
  • Is proactive, motivated, and has a self-starter attitude who wants to improve continuously.
  • Has an inquisitive personality that enjoys puzzles, combining strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Has an ability to “stay cool” under pressure and thrive in demanding work environments.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Strong work ethic.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
  • An understanding of financial modeling, including complex scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Possess an uncommon drive and entrepreneurial spirit.
