RECEIVING ASSISTANT COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

The Receiving Assistant Coordinator supports the Receiving Manager and is a highly organized professional who works in the warehouse and manages incoming shipments that arrive in the facility, warehouse organization, product rotation and placement. The Receiving Assistant Coordinator must review purchase orders and packing slips, compare them with the products delivered to verify count, weight, damaged or missing product and make note of any discrepancies. Once shipments arrive, they will assist the receiving staff to break down, tag, stock, rotate the items and store them safely in the warehouse. The Receiving Assistant Coordinator must also help maintain safety practices and processes within the warehouse.

As Receiving Assistant Coordinator, you must be able to multitask, oversee several operations at a time, have excellent time management, communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct unloading of inbound trucks, import containers, LTL deliveries and small parcel.
  • Loading of out bound trucks and customer pickups.
  • Accurately verify product receiving’s and fill out coordinating paperwork accordingly.
  • Schedule dock appointments for inbound freight proactively and aggressively.
  • Ensure product is properly broken down, tagged, labeled, rotated, stocked and stored safely within the warehouse.
  • Manage receiving and inventory of all incoming materials physically in warehouse.
  • Maintain proper rotation of product utilizing FIFO, lot dates, best by and receive dates.
  • Manage daily customer returns, including receiving, inspection, repair, and restock.
  • Maintain floor presence while motivating, coaching, supporting and providing guidance to the receiving staff.
  • Supervise Receiving team operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move product and place on shelving or stack them properly as required.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, manage receiving priorities and assigned responsibilities while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Make and manage decisions about equipment use, maintenance and modification.
  • Ensure that company standard operating procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to health and safety procedures.
  • Fill out receiving reports accurately.
  • Maintain and conduct self with a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Supports the team on all integrations and proposals.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Receiving Coordinator Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience in operating warehouse machinery, forklifts, pallet jacks and equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in receiving/shipping setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience of supervisory or management experience.
  • Adept at entering accurate data for purchase orders, inventory logs, safety reports, and other records.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Outstanding communication ability.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong decision makings skills and a result driven approach.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make quick decisions in fast-paced environment.
  • Warehouse organization.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, stoop, and lift up to 55 lbs.
