Assistant Manager

Job Summary:

 

Hourly position that is responsible for assisting the store manager in administering and managing day to day operations as it pertains to staffing, customer relations, inventory, and the overall security of the business assets.  Position requires a 40 hour work week to ensure optimal coverage including days, nights, and weekends. The assistant will work mostly opposite shifts from the store manager to ensure adequate management coverage.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Focus on assisting in recruitment and retention of sales motivated team that represents and protects the company reputation and professional standards.
  • Focus on assisting with training while employing an ongoing learning and educational centric workplace.
  • Focus on fostering a result driven sales team that is customer forward and productivity minded.
  • Focus on assisting and maintain a labor budget while keeping adequate staffing for maximum results and working required hours that allow the overall observation of every employee and coverage of all operational hours.
  • Focus on professional and confidential communications in all interactions with store team, store manager, and various departments.
  • Focus on individual and team results while assisting in managing accountabilities for all team’s performance standards and compliance of company procedural guidelines.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager in fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity that is open and transparent to the positive exchange of ideals and company initiatives.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager in compliance standards for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all.
  • Focus on assisting in the awareness and implementation of employee incentive programs.

Sales and Marketing (Customer)

  • Focus on exceeding individual and team sales goals thru result driven strategies.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager in creating a Customer Service culture that is brand experience and loyalty centric whereas each member of the team is seen as a brand ambassador.
  • Focus on the understanding and assisting the store manager in the implantation of sales reporting information and company data to tool the sales approach and training as needed while maintaining confidentiality of all information.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager in creating/maintaining a shopper friendly environment that highlights promotions and product positioning to increase overall sales
  • Focus on assisting the store manager in the use of marketing materials and support platforms such as social media, .com sales, etc. to promote the brand and increase overall traffic and sales.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager and maintaining personal accuracy and transparency with all aspects of financial accountability of funds, deposit, and sales reports while keeping organized retention of records and documents.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager on prompt and satisfactory resolution of all customer issues.

Merchandise and Inventory (product)

  • Focus on assisting the store manager in creating shoppable and eye appealing visual merchandising while maintaining consistency and flow throughout the store by assisting in creating departments and exercising display standards.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager in ensuring accuracy in pricing while being timely with price changes and promotional pricing.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager with accuracy and promptness as it pertains to inventory receiving, stocking and storage.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager with merchandise levels thru regular walkthroughs, store audits, and communication.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager in compliance with all Company mandated displays and promotions. 
  • Focus on assisting the store manager by ensuring the sales team is educated and able to effectively communicate values/benefits of products, programs, and policies as the inventory continues to evolve.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager with timely inventory controls for damaged and unsellable products.

Physical Plant and Security (safety)

  • Focus on assisting the store manager in maintaining a safe and secure environment both inside and outside thru regular walkthroughs, compliance of safety policies and procedures, and use of best practices.
  • Focus on Cleanliness and organization to ensure an environment where productivity can be maximized.
  • Focus on prompt communication with the store manager for any maintenance issues that might arise and have resources available for problem solving.
  • Focus on awareness of the location and operation of all security control devises as well as the ability to communicate issues professionally with the store manager if they arise.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager in the placement of key products to reduce loss and deter theft.
  • Focus on assisting the store manager in the assignment and management of electronic codes, building security codes, and building access keys for all employees.
  • Focus on the accurate, safe handling, and secure storage of all funds and financial records.

Essential Job Functions

  • Talking:  Frequent Speaking in order to articulate and convey details or information accurately, loudly, rapidly and professionally.
  • Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations in order to receive ordinary information.
  • Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to be able to operate machinery and inspect both documents and products.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma with some additional college or a degree preferred.  A minimum 1 years’ experience in a supervisory position or related retail sales position is optimal.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Strength: able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Standing: Be able to stand 8 hours without sitting.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation to and from work.  
  • Availability: Be available for all hours of operation and be reachable on all non- operational hours.
  • Average Mental Requirements: One must have the ability to deal with a variety of variables under limited standardization while being able to interpret various instructions.  Basic math skills and the ability to interpret graphs is necessary.
  • Reading comprehension skills and ability to prepare written communication with proper grammatical skills is also required.  Must be able to communicate effectively.
