Job Description and Profile
The civil EIT performs tasks assigned by a project manager. The civil EIT plans, designs, reviews, and coordinates complex engineering tasks in support of project accomplishment. The civil EIT applies engineering skills and abilities to complete necessary calculations to determine feasibility of different design options. This position is responsible for analyzing reports, maps, drawings, test results and other topographic and geological documents to plan and/or design projects or portions of projects.
Reports to: Senior vice president with direct supervision from principal engineer(s)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares reports, plans, specifications, schedules, and designs in accordance with current applicable code and/or law.
Visits job sites to monitor job progress and ensure compliance with and conformance with plans, specifications, construction, and safety standards. - Uses computer assisted tools to enhance efficiency.
- Coordinates, as required, with Project Managers and Director of Engineering.
- Works with and reviews subconsultant’s product.

Education, Experience, Qualifications
- This is the entry level for professional classifications.
- 0-3 years civil engineering design/engineering experience.
- Graduate of a 4-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline.
- EIT certificate required for the title of Civil EIT.
- This position also applies to those who do not have a baccalaureate degree in engineering but have succeeded in qualifying for an EIT certification.
Physical Considerations
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, and calculator.
- Ability to perform repetitive, finer hand and arm movements.
- Work activities involve combination of sitting for longer periods and intermittent standing/walking.

Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
