Job Description and Profile

The survey crew chief II , working as a 1-person crew or leading a 2-person crew, will conduct field surveying, draft survey documents, manage timelines and interface with clients, contractors, and field / office personnel. The survey crew chief II must be able to conduct complex field surveying duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform field surveys using Total Stations, GPS receivers and levels to obtain coordinates and elevation.
• Prepare and communicate field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data in required formats for project managers, land surveyors and drafting personnel.
• Reduce field data notes and verify their accuracy.
• Research legal and survey records to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed.
• Perform field data collection and corner staking, boundary and easement surveys, topographic mapping, plat and condo documents, and construction staking.
• Work with field and office personnel, both as a team member and independently, to produce topographic surveys, record of surveys, A.L.T.A. surveys, boundary line adjustments, easement exhibits, and any document required for project completion.
• Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy.
