As senior legal counsel, you will oversee legal matters for Le Creuset U.S. operations, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and supporting business growth while aligning with our Global Legal HQ. With expertise in regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and complex contracts, you provide strategic counsel on commercial agreements, distribution laws, and corporate affairs while refining legal processes to strengthen compliance. You thrive in an international environment and take a pragmatic, business-minded approach to balancing risk with business objectives and a dynamic, global setting. This role functionally reports to our Group Legal Director and will have a local dotted-line reporting structure.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
- Provide expert counsel on complex and various legal cases in the areas of (but not limited to): Information Technology laws, consumer protection laws, privacy laws, commercial laws, employment laws, corporate laws, and Intellectual property laws.
- Advising senior management on legal risks, compliance, real estate, intellectual property related, commercial, information technology, etc.
- Liaising and collaborating with internal departments and all stakeholders.
- Being the expert on the local legislation, ensuring organizational compliance, and informing the Group of all changes.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
As Senior Legal Counsel for the US, you will provide high-level guidance and expertise to the organization.
Required:
- Degree in Law plus a minimum of 4 to 6 years’ experience in a qualified international law firm.
- Experience as in-house lawyer will also be valuable.
- Experience in the North America Region (US and Canada) and any other regions also a plus.
- Attention to detail, impeccable organizational, planning and project skills is a MUST in this role.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented and inclusive work environment while also being capable of working independently and taking ownership of assigned tasks.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English. Any additional language would be considered as a strong asset.
- Hands-on and pragmatic, with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to work on different matters simultaneously, assertive and deadline-driven.
- Good listener and easily approachable, appreciative of cultural differences and able to communicate effectively with all levels within and outside the company.
