Job Description

There is a part-time job available for a community member with the Northern First Nations Home Retrofit Program (NFNHRP). This job would be great for someone who enjoys connecting with other community members, is handy with tools, and is interested in helping community members reduce energy usage and increase comfort in their homes.

Job duties:

• Participate in a multi-day training course
• Coordinate home visits with program participants
• Conduct a home energy assessment
• Install new energy-efficient products (e.g., LED light bulbs, shower heads, faucet aerators, power bars, hot water tank insulation wrap, etc.)
• Manage inventory of products shipped into the community
• Share knowledge with participants on how they can save energy to reduce their energy costs and increase the comfort of their homes
• Remove old products for disposal and recycling
• Attend weekly virtual check-in meetings with the Program Manager (based in Saskatoon)

Qualifications:

• Drivers License with transportation within the local community
• A strong interest in energy conservation is an asset
• Competency with using applications on a smart phone device
• Organized and adaptable to new situations and projects
• A friendly and professional manner with a positive attitude
• Detail-oriented, punctual, conscientious, reliable, and able to work independently
