The Applications Engineer will be responsible for developing water treatment solutions that align with the customer’s needs and the defined sales strategy to create a winning technical proposal. The successful candidate will have proven capabilities managing and leading projects by owning the technical sizing and proposal development. The candidate should also have strong time management skills to complete multiple tasks within the customer’s deadline. An Applications Engineer should be technically proficient and be able to efficiently navigate customer communications and understand how the commercial strategy drives the technical solution. You will interact with all levels of the business both technically and commercially, giving you visibility to all parts of the business. You will coordinate with key technical and commercial stakeholders to get alignment on the process design, costing and pricing approach. Who are we? A DAY IN THE LIFE This role will be responsible for a full range of activities including: Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety‐first attitude. Learn and understand the highly technical product that ECT2 is delivering to our customers and demonstrate customer-focus with creative problem-solving skills Work collaboratively with the Business Development team to evaluate the customer request and align the technical basis of design with the commercial strategy. Utilize process engineering principals and ECT2 tools to design the treatment solution that meets or exceeds the customers effluent targets. Select equipment and controls necessary for the selected treatment process to allow it to function as intended. Consult with key functional teams and subject matter experts to confirm the process design and build the required content for customer proposals. Develop capital and operating cost estimates for proposals using internal tools and interacting with 3rd party suppliers. Provide process engineering support and lead the technical handover to the project delivery team. Create proposal level technical drawings – Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and layouts. Perform literature and web‐based technical research. Assist with writing technical reports including, but not limited to, the following: technical proposals, project summaries and pilot test summaries. Travels as needed, primarily domestically, to support either the business development or project team in customer discussions or the delivery of products.
