Coaction’s Actuarial Department works with internal customers across a wide range of lines of business and subverticals, helping them to solve unique and complex problems. As an Actuarial Pricing Associate at Coaction, you will draw upon your strong mathematic, technical and problem-solving skills to analyze data and help our underwriters properly price business for the risks assumed.
This role requires strong technical, analytical, and actuarial acumen; the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences; and the ability to collaborate with business partners across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate business profitability, and provide recommendations for portfolio optimization
- Design dashboards and key monitoring exhibits to track portfolio metrics and strategy execution
- Utilize actuarial methodologies to solve business problems and drive results for a variety of Property and Casualty insurance products
- Pricing of large accounts, using an array of actuarial pricing methods
- Work as a member of a broader, cross-functional team to formulate and support business strategies for various products
- Solve complex problems and develop innovative approaches with minimal supervision
- Build and refurbish tools and models to streamline business processes and workflows
- Mentor and provide training to junior analysts
- Direct and complete large projects, utilizing resources from multiple disciplines
Qualifications
- Near or recent ACAS/FCAS preferred
- 3-5 years of actuarial experience
- Minimum of 2 years of Property Pricing experience, with Binding Authority experience a plus
- Willingness to challenge status-quo using creative solutions
- Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced M.S. Excel skills
- Programming knowledge (VBA, SQL, Python, Tableau or others) preferable
- Ability to distill complex concepts and communicate them clearly to non-technical business partners
- Ability to manage large scale projects
This role is to be located in the Morristown, NJ office location.
