Coaction is seeking an experienced senior analyst / associate to partner with the SVP, Strategic and Corporate Development and the Director, Strategic and Corporate Development focusing both internal and external business analysis, market trend analysis, competitive market analysis, opportunity assessment, strategic planning, and strategic initiative origination, development and delivery. The role will require robust financial analytical ability and effective collaboration with leaders across various functions to be successful.
Responsibilities
• Opportunity Assessment and Analysis: Assess strategic opportunities (organic and inorganic), develop business case materials for presentation to an executive audience, and conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis on potential solution structuring along with associated financial impact analysis.
• Strategic Planning: Partner with business and functional leadership in strategic idea origination, development, planning, and execution; lead in analysis and preparation of materials for strategic planning meetings.
• Process Execution and Implementation Management: Build strategic roadmaps to align delivery of specific initiatives across teams and functions, with the goal of ensuring timely delivery against objectives.
• Market and Competitor Analysis: Analyze market and competitor environment to support strategic decision making.
• Fast-Paced Investor Relations: Prepare materials for Board of Directors and Committee Meetings, and Townhall Meetings.
Qualifications
• Experienced senior analyst / associate with a minimum of 2-3 years of investment banking or management consulting experience; or similar experience at a Specialty P&C carrier in a strategic/finance setting with a record of outstanding performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or in another quantitative field.
• Proven ability to analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations on strategic issues to executive- level stakeholders and/or institutional investors.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment that requires strong ambiguity management.
• Results-oriented, proactive mindset with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with an ability to balance accuracy with timeliness.
• Strong research and quantitative skills.
• Collaborative, team-based working style with a high degree of maturity.
• Functional skills – General strategy/commercial experience in Property and Casualty Insurance and business case development experience – financial modeling experience strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.
• An ability to check one’s ego at the door and earn respect in short order.
• Fluency in PowerPoint and Excel with a focus on building materials for management consumption.
