Brown Advisory is seeking an experienced Senior Composite Performance Analyst to lead and oversee the composite performance for the firm. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of performance calculations and GIPS standards, serving as an internal subject matter expert on GIPS standards and anticipating any changes. This role involves partnering with business stakeholders and external vendors to ensure preparedness and compliance, and overseeing the maintenance of the GIPS Firm and all composite-related deliverables.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the internal subject matter expert on GIPS standards, staying updated on changes, and partnering with business stakeholders and external vendors to ensure compliance.
Oversee the maintenance of the GIPS Firm and all composite-related deliverables and vendors.
Manage composite-related escalations to ensure timely resolution.
Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance on composite-related maintenance activities and handle ad hoc requests.
Collaborate with the firm’s Messaging team in the development of marketing content to ensure compliance with GIPS requirements
Maintain the firm’s GIPS policies and procedures document and internal desktop procedures.
Ensure proper procedure documentation is maintained by vendors.
Coordinate and train external vendors on environmental changes impacting composite processes.
Assist with related special projects.
Ensure composite vendors perform according to agreed standards and SLAs.
Train and mentor junior colleagues to build performance expertise within the team.
Oversee the firm’s annual GIPS verification process.
Provide support, innovation, and project consultation for multiple business segments.
Develop industry insights through proactive networking, conference attendance, and independent research.
Perform other duties of a similar or related level and assist with special projects as necessary.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.
2 years of analyst or operations experience.
2 years of direct experience in composite maintenance and GIPS verification.
Strong Excel knowledge, particularly with large data sets.
Extremely detail-oriented.
Excellent client service focus with high touch experience.
Demonstrated ability to proactively problem-solve using independent judgment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage external vendor relationships.
Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities and a sense of urgency.
Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to work in a team, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt quickly to changes, and complete last-minute requests.
Demonstrated aptitude for numbers and quantitative proficiency.
Ability to handle highly sensitive client information with discretion.
Ability to work in the office five days a week.
Desired Qualifications
Prior experience within the financial services industry.
Knowledge of Advent Software or other portfolio management systems.
Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM)
Experience with client performance reporting.
Experience using the CAPS software for composite maintenance.
Salary: $85-110k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
