The Outreach Coordinator for our military program serves as the connection between Shepherd Center and the external community. The Outreach Coordinator manages aspects of SHARE’s relationships with referring facilities and providers and initiates referral development activities when indicated by market conditions. This role also provides support and education to potential and current clients, graduates, referral sources, and donors around the country at various military treatment facilities, military installations, and in local communities. The Outreach Coordinator interacts with patients and their families to reach desired outcomes. This role also presents at national, regional and local seminars. The Outreach Coordinator performs several duties in order establish new relationships in the external community. Accountabilities: -Attend local Veteran summits, symposiums expos. -Visit local VAs, Vet centers, VSO events and hosting tables. -Regularly (quarterly to monthly) coordinate/host educational “open houses” at SHARE for local current/potential referral sources, potential clients, donors/potential donors. -Provide weekly updates to PR to post on Shepherd’s social media pages. -Visit healthcare facilities at both DoD installations and VA medical centers in the southeast in person to provide education about SHARE. -Provide input into information displayed on SHARE brochures, website, banners to be sure they include information that appeals to military/veteran community. -Attend or speak at (minimum of 5) foundation events if/when requested. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree required, Masters degree preferred. Two (2) years of experience working with military or veteran populations. - Minimum of one (1) year experience in relationship-building with military organizations, veterans associations, and other targeted constituents preferred. - Minimum one (1) year experience with military treatment facilities/VA facilities and/or military medical separation/retirement process preferred; Must be able to travel up 50% - 75% of the time - Valid United States driver's license required - Intimate knowledge of routine office equipment. - Working knowledge of Excel, Word, computer programs. - Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize, organize, work independently, solve problems, meet deadlines, interact well with others and professional appearance required. - Must possess attention to detail.
