Position :
We are looking for a motivated immigration attorney.
Salary is very competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits include flexible working hours, compensatory time off for work beyond the 40-hour work week. We are also offering up to $5,000 for relocation expenses for applicants who need to relocate from beyond 40 miles from Stamford, CT.
Responsibilities :
Provide legal advice and direct representation to clients on a wide range of matters including citizenship & naturalization, adjustment of status, humanitarian waivers, asylum, SIJ, U / T-visa, VAWA, etc.
Represent clients before the USCIS, EOIR and BIA
Manage client documentation and assist with data reporting and other administrative
responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications :
A law degree and admission to a U.S. state bar.
Knowledge and experience with immigration law and procedure
General knowledge and familiarity with other areas of the law such as guardianship
Preferred (not required) fluency in Spanish / Portuguese.
Skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and adapt to rapidly changing impacts in immigration law.
Ability to work sensitively with staff and clients having diverse personalities, lifestyles, cultures, political orientations and various faiths.
Experience
At least one year of legal practice experience representing clients in immigration related matters.
