Hydrovac Operator - Charleston, SC Area

Wage: $27 per hour
Schedule: M-F, Sat and Sun as needed

Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hydrovac Operator to join our team in the Charleston, SC metropolitan area. As a Hydrovac Operator, you will be responsible for operating hydro vacuum trucks and related equipment in a safety-focused environment, performing tasks such as excavation, trenching, and utility line exposure.
Responsibilities:
• Operate hydrovac truck to perform safe and non-disruptive excavation around power lines, plumbing, and underground utilities2.
• Maintain trucks and equipment according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Complete vehicle inspection reports to ensure safety before leaving company premises.
• Identify and expose hidden utilities to avoid harm during excavation.
• Set up and secure work zones to ensure safety.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
• Complete all required paperwork daily, including job reports and incident forms.
• Manage and dispose of excavated materials properly.
• Perform and log pre-operation safety inspections.
Requirements:
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B7.
• Clean driving record (mandatory)4.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal history background check (mandatory).
• Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in hydro excavation or related field.
• Knowledge of hydrovac technologies, safety protocols, and applicable regulations.
• Ability to interpret locates, stakeouts, drawings, and schematics.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment2.
• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds4.
• Willingness to work variable shifts with extended hours and travel up to 25% of the time4.
