Open to all shifts : 1stShift (6 : 00am-2 : 30pm), 2ndShift (3 : 00pm-11 : 30pm)
Lead Marine has immediate openings forJourneymen Structural Weldersfor the Shipyard Industry here inNewport News. ThisWeldingjob will be workingon Naval Bases & Shipyardsfrom 6 : 00am to 2 : 30pm and overtime as needed. DBIDs badge in hand is a plus.Must have 5 years of navy repair / marine welding experience. Pay is dependent on skills and capability.

Responsibilities :
- Multi-pass. All position fillet and butt welds using the following processes : SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW
- Heating - Oxygen / Propane Heating Torch.
- Experience working in a physically demanding environment (shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, staging, etc.).
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
- Air Carbon Arc Gouging.
- Ability to properly use fillet and butt weld gauges
- Mustbe experienced with welding carbon steel and mild steel with ceramic tape backing.
