BACKGROUND
Lead to the Future, LLC is assisting a client to fill a new position for a Chief Finance and Administration Officer. The Company is 100% ESOP owned and is dedicated to triple bottom line performance. The Company is a mid-sized organization in the specialty construction industry and has multiple business units and multiple geographic locations. The successful individual will play a key role in providing extensive financial evaluation, coordinating the shared services to support the businesses, growing the company and designing an exciting future for the organization. The company is located in the greater Rochester, NY area.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Chief Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for the oversight of the following departments or activities: Finance, ESOP administration, human resources, marketing, organization wide safety, facilities and maintenance, risk management, legal / compliance, and IT. The position reports to the CEO of the organization and collaborates with the Business Area Presidents.
FOR THIS POSITION, THE DEFINITION OF SUCCESS IS:
The individual provides deep expertise and experience to support the CEO and the board in making enterprise level decisions, including capital allocation and investment, cash management, ESOP administration, budgeting, financial projections, valuation oversight, risk management, and overhead management.
The individual supports the Business Area Presidents by managing the shared services to meet the needs of both business areas and multiple geographies today and building these teams for the future. They also bring deep expertise in Finance, ESOP administration, HR, risk management and shared services management in order to effectively manage these areas and enable the Presidents to focus on building their business areas.
The individual proactively manages the responsibilities and teams to enhance the sustainability of the organization, support the ESOP and triple bottom line culture, balance priorities, instill continuous improvement strategies, support / mentor employees and create challenging career paths.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Provide to the board in depth financial analysis of the current position as well as forecasts and projections
· Ensure that there is an evaluation of key risks and a mitigation plan
· Ensure compliance with all HR and business regulations
· Ensure that the appropriate levels of insurance are maintained
· Balance shared resources to ensure support of both businesses and all geographies
· Oversee shared services to ensure that the departments are effective and efficient.
· Provide financial analytics, projections and forecasts
· Lead the ESOP retirement committee and liaison to the ESOP communication committee
· Oversee the organization wide safety programs
· Ensure that the HR program is in compliance with regulations at all locations
· Maintain a cost-effective employee benefits program
· Maintain proper levels of staffing in all department for current and future needs
· Provide guidance to the department leaders on proper allocation of effort to support the business areas
· Ensure excellence within each department, meeting the organizational needs today and planning for the future
· Guide and mentor department leaders and teams in continuous improvement and personal development
TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS, THE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS:

· CFO or equivalent in a multi-business, multi-state company
· Experience in an ESOP organization
· Bachelor’s degree and preferably MBA or CPA
· Experience in an organization of $60 MM to $100 MM in revenue
COMPENSATION
The starting salary for the position is $165,000 to $185,000. The Company also offers a generous benefits package including medical and dental insurance, PTO and performance bonuses. As a 100% employee owned company the successful individual will also share in the success of the Company through the ESOP trust benefits.
