Employment Type: Contract Position for 2025-2026 School Year (Potential for Extension to 2026-2027)
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Arizona Time)
Salary: Based on Experience

About Tohono O’odham High School:
Tohono O’odham High School (TOHS), home of the Eagles, serves students in grades 9-12 on the Tohono O’odham Reservation. Located two hours south of Phoenix, AZ, and two hours east of Tucson, AZ, TOHS has an enrollment of approximately 102 students with an average class size of 16.

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated High School Science Teacher to provide high-quality instruction in a culturally supportive environment. The teacher will instruct both general education and special education students, ensuring their academic success and personal growth.

Responsibilities:

• Develop yearly instructional outlines and daily lesson plans.
• Implement effective teaching methods and adapt instruction to meet student needs.
• Evaluate student progress using a variety of assessment tools.
• Create a positive and disciplined learning environment.
• Supervise students throughout the academic day.
• Promote student wellness and safe learning environments.
• Collaborate with school staff and participate in IEP meetings.
• Support after-school activities and attend school events (up to 10-15 additional hours per month).
• Adhere to school policies and tribal ordinances.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a High School Science Teacher.
• Valid, unrestricted teaching certification in Science from a U.S. state or territory.
• Must maintain professional and ethical conduct.
• Must pass a background investigation for a Public Trust position.
• Valid state driver’s license and own vehicle for commuting.
