Job Description
Position Purpose :
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. This is the Journeyman in Training position requiring advanced knowledge in the Electrical trade with more than two (2) year experience.
Essential duties and Responsibilities
Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
Make decisions based on measurable criteria
Apply mathematics to solve problems
Plan basic work and select proper tools
Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings
Work at heights without fear
Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects
Core Competencies- the Electrician Journeyman 1 must be able to proficiently perform the following tasks :
Perform and understand all competencies of Electrical Apprentice
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
Test electrical systems using testing devices such as ohmmeters, megger, voltmeters, and non-energized equipment
Able to understand, navigate, and read e-plan drawings for electrical installations as required a plus
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring based on job specifications and local codes
Have basic understanding of schematic drawings
Assist others in producing bill of materials
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Position Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in the field or in a related area
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
Work under immediate supervision (Typically reports to a lead man, foreman or supervisor)
